Calculator questions
Do I need my exact birth time?
For a rising sign and house placements, yes. The ascendant moves quickly and depends on location. An unknown-time chart uses noon only as a labeled reference and omits the ascendant and houses. Your Moon sign may also change during the day.
Why are Western and Vedic signs different?
Western tropical astrology begins at the March equinox. Sidereal astrology applies an ayanamsa offset. Astrojelly’s sidereal option uses a documented approximation; it is not a certified Lahiri or professional Kundli calculation.
Are these astrology predictions scientifically proven?
No. Astronomical positions can be calculated and tested. Astrological interpretations are symbolic traditions and are not scientifically established predictions of personality or future events.
How is calculation accuracy handled?
The tools use Astronomy Engine for astronomical positions. We show the zodiac, house system, timezone, and limitations. Birth-time uncertainty, coordinate errors, and sidereal conventions can affect results. We do not claim an untested 99.9% accuracy rate.
Do you save my birth details?
Calculations run in your browser. Broader place searches send only the country and place query to Astrojelly; birth dates, times and results stay in your browser. You can download results to your own device. Standard hosting access logs may still record page visits.
Find your zodiac sign near a cusp birthday
A birthday is the invitation; the exact sky adds the detail. Popular zodiac date ranges are approximate: the Sun enters each sign at a specific moment that varies by year. For a birthday near a boundary, your birth year and time help determine which tropical sign contains the Sun.
Try this: compare your calculated Sun sign with a familiar date-range list. If they differ near a boundary, use the year and exact birth time to understand why.
Can someone have two Sun signs?
In a chosen zodiac system, the Sun has one calculated longitude and one sign at a given moment. A cusp birthday is a reason to check the exact time, not evidence that the Sun occupies two signs at once.
