Calendar and transit tools use the date and location you choose. Birth-based tools use your birth details. Select a historical timezone or a verified manual UTC offset.
Vedic placements use our documented approximate sidereal offset. Near sign, nakshatra, pada, house or dasha boundaries, small input or convention changes can change a classification. Traditional classifications are not scientifically established predictions.

Your birth star is a smaller slice of a much bigger sky. The traditional system divides the sidereal zodiac into 27 nakshatras, each with four padas. Birth time helps locate the Moon within these divisions. Results near a division boundary are sensitive to time and the sidereal offset used.
Before comparing: note the nakshatra, pada and the method shown with the result. If your Moon sits near a boundary, verify the birth time before building an interpretation around that label.
Why does my nakshatra differ from another calculator?
Compare the birth time, timezone and ayanamsa convention first. Astrojelly uses an approximate sidereal method. Even a small longitude difference can change a pada or nakshatra close to its boundary.
